Meet the Staff

Having studied Art & Design since leaving school, my passion has continued to grow and develop throughout my career. Initially studying HND Art & Design at Fife College I went on to achieve a First Class Degree in Design for Textiles at Heriot-Watt University. My degree show collection was showcased at New Designers in London where I achieved recognition for my work. 

I then went on to work for Glasgow based textile designers Timorous Beasties as a print room assistant, further developing my skills in printmaking and design. I then went to work as an Artworker for a design company in Fife, enhancing my digital design skills and producing much more commercial products. 

Wanting to take my career in a different direction, I studied my PGDE at the University of Edinburgh and have never looked back! I was placed at St. Columba's for my probation year and nearly 6 years later I'm still here! - I'm also a former pupil, so although we've moved buildings it feels like I've never left! - I love teaching and watching pupils gain confidence and capability in their work. 

Since beginning my career as a teacher, I have also set up my own illustration business. I think it's really important for both pupils and teachers to have a creative outlet and find something they love!

I have always loved art and design, and the freedom it creates. I started with a HND at Fife College in Fashion Design, before getting my degree in Fashion Branding from Glasgow Caledonian University. This lead me 5 years working in retail and eventually deciding to follow my ambition and complete my PGDE at Glasgow University and become a teacher.

Since starting teaching I have worked in 7 schools around Fife – for various periods of time – and settled down in St Columba’s RC in 2024. It has been fast paced, but I have loved working with both staff and pupils to help all the young people I teach succeed and achieve their goals.

My career has been shaped by a genuine passion for creativity, design, and inspiring young people. I began my journey studying Textile Design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, before completing a Master’s in Design at Heriot-Watt University in Galashiels.

I went on to spend 11 years as a Designer for a Glasgow home interiors company, leading creative direction and developing collections and products that brought ideas to life. Wanting to share my love of art and design more directly, I completed my PGDE at the University of Strathclyde and moved into teaching.

For the past five years, I’ve taught Art and Design across Fife, Stirling, and Clackmannanshire Councils, supporting learners to grow in confidence and creativity. I'm currently thrilled to be working at St Columba’s RC, where I can inspire and celebrate the talent of the young people I teach.
