Languages, Media and Film Faculty

The Faculty is made up by the following members of staff

Mrs Malcolm is the PTC lead of the Languages Faculty which delivers the subjects of English, Literacy, Media, French and Spanish. Mrs Malcolm joined St Columba's in her new role in August 2019, having been PTC of English in her previous school for 10 years.

Miss McDonald has enjoyed teaching English at St Columba's since 2004.

Mr Ryan has taught English at St Columba’s since 1997  - although some of you may know him better for his onstage performances in our school shows over the years (Anyone remember Fagan? or the Janitor through the years in our 50th Anniversary show?)   Mr Ryan is our longest serving member of staff in the Faculty – he also teaches Media Studies alongside Mrs Kelsey.

Ms O’Brien has been an English Teacher at St Columba’s since 2010 – leaving us for a short time from 2012 to 2018,  only to feel the pull of our school community and returning to us on a permanent basis in 2019.

Mrs Kelsey is a member of our Senior Leadership Team and a member of the Faculty, teaching English and Media.

Ms Gillies joined as a probationary teacher of English in August 2023.

Miss Nisbet is a temporary teacher of English.

Mrs Mulak joined St Columba’s in 2007.  She teaches French and Spanish in the Faculty.

Mr Boissiere has taught Modern Languages in St Columba’s since 2006.

Mrs Pierquin started out as Miss Alexander, joining the Faculty in 2008.  Mrs Pierquin is also a former pupil making some of the more senior members of staff in school feel very old!  However as a school community we are always proud to welcome our pupils back as a member of staff.
